SOLAR 21 Park –Mayo Football League’s headquarters gets a new name

Milebush Park, headquarters of the Mayo Football League, will be known as Solar 21 Park, thanks to a sponsorship arrangement unveiled at a gala event in Castlebar on Saturday 21st January.

At the gala, Michael Bradley said, “Solar 21 is proud to be associated with the Mayo Football League, one of the most progressive football leagues in the country today. We were impressed with the investment made in the pitches and the facilities and the ambition shown by the appointment of such a respected former player as Head Coach. The ambition and pursuit of quality shown by the league is similar to our own and that was one of the things that attracted us to the sponsorship.”

The sponsorship, which takes the form of naming rights, is a three-year deal initially.

New sponsor firmly rooted in Mayo, says soccer league chairman

Padraig McHale, Chairperson of the Mayo Football League said “The Mayo Football League is delighted to announce our partnership with Solar 21. In Solar 21 we have a partner with a strong brand that is at the leading edge of renewable energy projects. It makes it all the more special that this fantastic Irish company with interests in the UK and continental Europe is firmly rooted in County Mayo and that they share our vision of providing the very best opportunities for our young people.

Their investment will allow us to continue on our journey of constantly improving our facilities at the League Headquarters and thereby benefiting the boys and girls, men and women of Mayo, both young and old, for generations to come.”

Our CEO and founder Michael Bradley and his family lived at Dooagh and his mother ran a small shop on the island. Although the family moved to the UK, where Michael studied engineering, they remain very closely connected with Dooagh and are supporters of St Colman’s Care Centre as well as other local causes.
